What began as a temporary solution quickly became something much bigger. Compton has a strong community of families with roots in the American South — places like Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and the Carolinas. These families grew up boiling shrimp, frying fish, making gumbo, and preparing big meals filled with flavor and tradition. They know seafood, they love seafood, and they were looking for a place that offered quality, variety, and fair prices.

As we got to know our customers, we realized they weren't just looking for seafood — they wanted the ingredients that complete their Southern recipes. So we expanded our offerings and added the meats our community asked for, including oxtail, turkey chops, ribs, and more. We listened, we learned, and we built our store around the needs of the people who supported us from day one.

From those early days of selling from a table, General Seafood Meats and More grew into a full retail market. Today, we specialize in high-quality frozen seafood, pre-packed with care for freshness, convenience, and value. We proudly serve the Compton community and the many families who bring their Southern cooking traditions to our store.
